Karina Longworth is the film editor of the LA Weekly, as well as the co-founder of Cinematical and the former editor of SpoutBlog. She recently returned to her hometown of Los Angeles after twelve years split between various other cities, most recently Brooklyn. This blog, when she remembers to update it, will be mostly about that.
It is very alarming that people who just don’t give a fuck have positions of substantial power in publishing, even if Jezebel is small potatoes compared to Cosmo… there’s a significant audience that will, initially, seriously consider their opinions before realizing that they’re not just full of shit, but also intending to be full of shit.
It’s not a writer’s job to protect the stupid.
